Vic: Victoria's top cop meets Somali leaders

Victoria Police Chief Commissioner SIMON OVERLAND has visited a Melbourne mosque to
assure worshippers they are all Australians and shouldn't feel like second-class citizens.

Mr OVERLAND went to the 8 Blacks prayer centre in North Melbourne .. where three of
the five men charged this week over alleged terrorism offences are believed to have attended.

Many Muslims have said they fear reprisals following the counter terrorist raids in
Melbourne on Tuesday .. which resulted in five men of Somalian and Lebanese background
being held in custody.

Community members say they are relieved after the meeting with the commissioner ..

with one calling him a a really nice guy.
